The Tailored Food Model

Anthropological Deep Dives

In communities impacted by malnutrition, we study which foods are available locally and what families enjoy eating. Immersing ourselves in rural agricultural communities, urban markets, and with families as they purchase, cook, and consume food - we gain an understanding of the full food systems landscape in a region.

02

Holistic Food System Design

Working with local experts, Tailored Food designs and builds holistic food system models. These encompass climate sensitive agriculture value chains, food production facilities, and distribution channels to enable the availability of healthy, delicious affordable foods.

Sustainable Social Enterprises

Tailored Food supports local entrepreneur partners throughout the food value chain. We work together to transform food systems that are climate resilient and are financially sustainable.

Tailored Food's Story

Our History

In March 2016, at a hospital hit hard by Ebola on the outskirts of Monrovia, Liberia, our founder, Taylor Quinn, met with the Head Pediatrician, Dr. Jude.
Over a long conversation Dr. Jude shared:

"I treat malnourished children at my hospital with what UNICEF provides me, but I know most of these kids will die once I send them home. And there is no advice I can give to their mothers - there simply is no nutritious food available in local markets."

Tailored Food was born to partner with ambitious local nutrition entrepreneurs
in designing and selling food products to families hardest hit by malnutrition.
